Monday Inspiration

This past weekend I traveled to a little town in South Dakota to shoot a wedding. I'll post images from the wedding soon!

My assistant and I stopped at one point so I could get a shot of this bright colorful toy grouping. I guess it's a testament to always keep your eyes open, you never know when something else will come up.

As I came back to the car Ashley said, "Look, Doll butts!"

It's just a funny shot of a store that sells 2nd hand goods.

Anna has Graduated!

To know Anna and her family is a treasure in and of itself. I met Anna's older sister Erin years ago and photographed her wedding last September in Duluth. (See MN Bride this July on newstands for an image from their wedding.) So, it was a delightful surprise to be asked to shoot Anna's graduation portraits.

We hit a few of my favorite locations around Minneapolis. And then I heard music to my creative ears, Anna wants to study photography! So it was a treat to shoot her beautiful self yesterday!

Tana & Joe 6-21-2008

Congratulations Tana & Joe! Given the chance to meet people who's laughter is contagious is a privilege. My uncle Toby is one of those people...it could be across the room, you'd hear that laugh and know, Toby is near.

Tana and Joe have that ability to make you smile. Maybe that's the occurring theme of many of my clients, their laughter, it fills your heart and brings you to smile, unsuspectingly. Their wedding took place in Byron, MN, near Rochester at the Somerby Golf Course. If you are a golfer, making the 1 hour trek to Byron is worth it, the course is impeccable! It was a windy, sunny day and everything was beautiful!

Jade & Jason 6-14-2008

Congratulations Jade and Jason! When Saturday after Saturday the weather report is/was rain, thunderstorms, etc., a day like June 14th is something that makes you smile! It started to rain as we packed up our gear to head home at 10pm, the entire day, sunny, beautiful and perfect!

Jade and Jason were married at Nokomis Heights Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and their reception at the Hilcrest Country Club Golf Course in St. Paul. At their engagement shoot this past winter, I knew they had an energy that would create a wedding day filled with joy, love and celebration. They exude that beautiful love thing we all crave, read about and hope for in life.
