Liz Won CNN's 2008 Hero of the Year!!
I'm so excited right now! What am I thankful for on this Thanksgiving day? The many wonderful people I've managed to meet in my lifetime, Liz McCartney is on my top 10 list! After volunteering this past April with the St. Bernard Project, I met this year's CNN Hero of the year.
I posted a week or so ago, to go and vote for Liz and so many people did. I'm watching CNN televise the award show as we speak and cannot say enough great things about all the people who were nominated.
I'm also blessed to say I have been asked to be on the board for the St. Bernard Project's Women's build group. It's an effort that'll give women special build week's to volunteer and help build new homes. I'll be working on fundraising efforts and cannot wait to share what's in store.
So on this Thanksgiving, as I sit in my hotel room in Chicago, waiting to shoot a wedding tomorrow, I'm thankful, so thankful for someone as beautiful and courageous as Liz (and her wonderful partner Zach) for their ambitious efforts to help others!
CONGRATULATIONS LIZ and the ST. BERNARD PROJECT!!!!

Invitations, announcements and more: Paper Rock Scissors
I want to share a local company I think is stupendous for Wedding Invitations, Baby Announcements, Holiday Greeting cards, etc.: Paper Rock Scissor
I had the luxury of sitting down with one of the designers at Paper Rock Scissors and loved the 1 on 1 personal time I got to discuss what I was looking for and what they could do for me. They offer their own design work along with custom Letterpress and other super luxurious paper options.
Their studio is located in Minneapolis and I assure you it's worth the drive to check in with them. Patty & Erica are wonderful and informative about all your paper needs.

She's Here! My niece, Lidia Caroline!
I'm giddy with my "Auntie Enthusiasm". I spent the weekend with my newest niece, Lidia. She came into the world a little earlier than anticipated, but with the best cuddle I've held in a long time. Literally, she curled up into a ball and nuzzled into a little pea-pod effect. And maybe it's the the fact my baby brother is a father again, or the crisp winter that fell upon the morning she was born, but it was a moving, lifting weekend!
My nephew Collin questioning if Lidia is a doll or real.

Jessica & Ryan, part 2
Jessica and Ryan really had an amazing wedding day! Jessica's family incorporated their Hawaiian heritage by flying in leis from Hawaii. The wedding was outdoors at the Chaska Park Ridge Conference Center. It was a perfect backdrop for the fall leaves. Congratulations on such a terrific day!
And, for a terrific father daughter dance, Jessica and her father danced to Pearly Shells by Don Ho! At one moment, I realized, YES, yes, I was dancing along with them as I photographed. Love it!
